Update on the progress of the rkt application container engine

Abstract

Today rkt is getting use inside of a variety of systems from hand built to big systems like Kubernetes. This is a quick update on the technology and progress made in the last few years. Along with an architecture of how Kubernetes + rkt interacts with the underlying Linux container systems from networking, seccomp, overlayfs, etc.

    Biography

    Brandon Philips is helping to build modern Linux server infrastructure at CoreOS as CTO. Prior to CoreOS, he worked at Rackspace hacking on cloud monitoring and was a Linux kernel developer at SUSE. As a graduate of Oregon State’s Open Source Lab he is passionate about open source technologies.
