60 Minute BoF
Scheduled: Thursday, August 20, 2015 from 4:00 – 5:00pm in Metropolitan A

One Line Summary

Let's get together to discuss potential userspace APIs for advanced FS & storage systems that we could add to the kernel!

Abstract

The objective of this BOF session is to discuss what kinds of new FS & storage APIs could be useful additions for userspace programs. Things that we can talk about include a more standard syscall for accessing accelerated copy routines (filesystem reflink, the SCSI copy offloading thing); the proposed XFS configurable error handling interface; and anything else that application programmers might want to discuss with kernel engineers.

(There is a separate SMR BOF.)
