Abstract

The thermal framework has a number of thermal sensors that are duplicating work in their platform code. They create thermal zones that combine multiple thermal sensors. We would like the thermal framework to simplify this common operations and provide a sensor API that allows you to easily setup a thermal zone that combines multiple sensors with simple operations, i.e. max of all sensors, average,… Ideally, this “virtual sensors” would be exposed to user space as well.

This API should also be able to do simple filtering of noisy sensors.
