Discussion about the CRIU port on PowerPC

Abstract

Currently running on Intel and ARM64 platforms, CRIU has being ported on PowerPC, in Little Endian.
Porting CRIU on ppc64 raised issues tied to the Power architecture, as for example the linking options, the vDSO usage, the assembly constraints, the endianess issues.
I’ll talk about the issues I faced during this port, and the changes that will be required to get it work on Big Endian, like handling ABIv1 in parasite code which imply dealing with relocation and GOT handling.
