This proposal has been rejected.
One Line Summary
The state of art, benchmarks, software design challenges, and lessons learned in adding SATA support for OMAP5 and nextgen DaVinci technology devices.
Abstract
The SATA (Serial Advanced Technology Attachment) is one of the key differentiating peripheral available in OMAP5 platform and nextgen DaVinci devices (i.e. DM816x and DM814x). OMAP5 with SATA is a differentiating factor in the smart phone domain and also penetrating the non mobile phone market. The nextgen DaVinci devices are focused on rich media processing which includes Video Encode/Decode/Transcode/Transrate, Video Security, Video Conferencing, Video Infrastructure, Media Server, and Digital Signage.
This paper shares software design challenges faced, performance analysis done in DaVinci devices and the ongoing study and development of the eSATA driver for OMAP5.
