Abstract

Most Linux wireless stack features for AP mode are not aware of neighboring APs belonging to the same network. In some cases the local configuration could be optimized if more knowledge about neighbor APs is available. One area where this information could be helpful is the Automatic Channel Selection feature of hostapd that could be extended to span over multiple APs. Another one is to use 11k neighbor reports to announce roaming candidates to STAs. This talk will present some ideas on how to implement the mentioned features spanning over multiple APs.
