How will we Address Persistent Memory?
This proposal has been accepted as a session.
One Line Summary
Persistent memory devices are coming, so we need a plan on how to take advantage of them through the file system.
Abstract
Persistent memory devices present a directly addressable non-volatile storage medium. Should we create a new file system to address this type of storage, modify existing ones, or maybe just treat them as block storage? The aim of this talk is to present an overview of the available hardware and its characteristics to fuel a discussion on what approach to take with file system implementation.
